Here I am, just a typical college junior girl trying to pass all of her classes, make her deans list dream come true, balance her social life and make time for one of her most important passions of crafting. This blog, Creative Craft Hacks, wasn’t born because I have always wanted to be a blogger – even though it crossed my mind once or twice – it all started as a semester long assignment in my Fundamentals of Digital Online Media class.
My name is Kara and I am a Texas State University junior who is majoring in mass communications advertising with a minor in business marketing and possibly going to double major by adding public relations with advertising. I love to learn. If I’m not sleeping (which is never because I pull all nighters for fun) I’m doing school. Even when I have nothing to do and I’m bored, I’ll do homework for fun because you can always try to improve on your grades right?
Sometimes, though, in the midst of me being a total nerd, I need a break from the stress of the day-in and day-out studying. Crafting has always been one of my favorite stress relievers and passions growing up and today. I’m that kind of person who sees products at stores such as canvas wall art, bulletin boards, pillows/blankets, jewelry, home decor, ceramic bowls/mugs, etc., and won’t buy them because I know I would rather make it for myself!
I’m a hands on person with almost everything I do, which is one of the reasons why I think crafting is something I enjoy so much because it makes me feel like I’m actually being productive and doing something that matters, at least to me. Crafting is something that I love to do for my own personal benefit but also to share my creativity with others as well as to help people who think that they are “crafting impaired” learn easy techniques so they won’t feel that way. There are so many extremely simple and fun ways to make the things you would possibly buy at a store, even if you cant draw realistically or paint like Picasso.
My main goal for this blog is to essentially, spread the awareness that there are ways that EVERYONE can be creative. If my blog posts can inspire even just one person out there reading to get creative then I know that my blog accomplished its goal and I can work toward inspiring more people to get creative as time goes on!
So, you should stop reading this cliche about me page right now and click over to my blog posts to see if anything inspires you to get crafty and creative! You’ll never know unless you go look! (If one of my blog posts happens to catch your eye and you want to continue getting even more creative, check out Pinterest’s website by clicking here to get inspiration for hundreds of different DIY’s and crafts).
